Registration process
To register a .DL.GOV.NG, you have to send a scanned letter using the letterhead of the ministry or state government parastatal that plans to register the domain name.

For Federal Government parastatals, the Authorization Letter should be signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry/Executive Secretary/Director-General while at State level the request should be from the Secretary to the State Government or someone assigned by the Secretary to the State Government.

For registration at Local Government Area, the request should come from the Local Government Chairman or his nominee.

The letter must contain the domain name to be registered (confirm that the domain of choice meets all criteria by sending an email to support@whogohost.com with the proposed domain name before preparing this letter) and the name of the person authorized to register the domain. This authorized person must be working at the ministry and the following details should be stated in the letter.

  • begin with a letter or a number and end with a letter or a number
  • use the English character set and may contain letters (i.e., a-z, A-Z), numbers (i.e. 0-9) and dashes (-) or a combination of these
  • neither begin with, nor end with a dash (-)
  • not contain a dash in the third and fourth positions (e.g. www.xy- -ad.ng)
  • not include a space (e.g. www.xy ad.ng)
  • not include underscore (e.g www.cb_ad.ng)
